WHY DO I PHOTOGRAPH?Days are numbered, and so are photos. The difference is that photos have numbers that never expire. Photographs allow us to take days, numbered and limited, and preserve it in a memory that has unlimited time and value.
Back in the seventh grade I first picked up a camera. I remember it vividly, the warm day in Cozumel in front of the water when my dad handed me his Rebel T3i. This Rebel was my dad's favorite possession at the time, no one was allowed to touch it. He was no professional, but that camera captured everything from my siblings and my own childhood. Him handing me this camera was a sign of trust that can not be put into words. Ever since then, I became obsessed with capturing the world, and have pushed photography from a part-time hobby into a career that I am now persuing at American University.
